Info

It has been a productive couple of years for Kit Soden. It started with the release of "Like a Dancer Unstrung" in summer of 2010, which was a collaboration with author/lyricist Steven Erikson, and continued with his subsequent 25 city Europe tour in the spring/summer of 2011.
Upon his return to North America, Kit spent the rest of the summer in the Green Mountains of Vermont, recording his follow-up album "Into the Silence." Although he had been performing primarily as a duo with violinist Aliza Thibodeau, the album was conceived as full band project - guitar, bass, violin, drums - which then expanded to contain 15+ instruments, including brass quintet, harp, and church organ.
The album is set to be released in the spring of 2012, and Kit and Aliza are planning a tour of the East Coast, as well as a return to Europe in the autumn.

Kit

Composer and songwriter Kit Soden began studying piano at a young age, but it was the guitar that first inspired him to compose twenty years ago. Fascinated by the patterns and shapes he made with his fingers on the fretboard, he started inventing his own chords. Upon learning that the all chords on the guitar had already been discovered, he did not let this sway him from his search for new patterns and harmonies. It inspired him to develop a unique timbre and approach toward the sounds and rhythms in his playing, singing, and composing.

After years of dedication to exploring an intuitive approach to composing, Kit wished to broaden his knowledge of written music and orchestral timbres. This led him to return to school and study classical composition and theory. Armed with the wisdom of the ages and the diligent methods of this tradition of sonic alchemy, Kit continues to compose and write songs with a true passion and calling that is heard in the music he has carved into being.
